What is Happening To Our Coral Reefs
AND HOW YOU CAN HELP
Overview
Coral reefs are the most diverse marine ecosystems in the world and provide a home to a plethora of marine species. Reef systems play an important role in our lives by providing for fisherman, tourism, and coastal protection. Reefs are under attack from pollution, overfishing, and warming sea temperatures as this causes the coral to die. As of now, over 50% of the world’s coral reefs died and 90% are projected to die in the next century if something does not change. The destruction of coral reefs is not only harming the environment, but causing economic disaster.
