Be The Change You Want To See
Our Mission:
Innovation. Not a typical mission statement pertaining to reef, wildlife, and habitat conservation, but it is our belief that innovation will solve many of the challenges for our environment.
About Our Conservancy
INNOVATION, Reef & Wildlife Conservancy was founded in 2020 by David and Pauline Burnell. Dave and Pauline are dedicated to bettering our environment and have created this charity for a healthier planet tomorrow.
INNOVATION, Reef & Wildlife Conservancy will seek out the best, brightest, and most passionate among us to develop innovative processes to combat habitat loss, deforestation, reef destruction, and regional/global pollution. We will aggressively pursue real change, both social, and scientific as it pertains to solutions surrounding destruction of our natural resources.
IRWC is developing relationships, and partners throughout the world in achieving success to our mission. We will work tirelessly in our objective, and ask that everyone pushes forward, and aligns in our mutual interest, a cleaner, healthier environment for all.
Our Top Priorities
We have focused our work to four core values. Invasive species, coral reefs, wildlife, and social impacts.
Invasive Species
Ecosystems are being harmed and overpopulated by non-native species.
Coral Reefs
Our reef systems are being harmed by pollution, overfishing, and warming temperatures.
Wildlife
Wildlife habitats are being damaged from deforestation, urbanization, warming temperatures, and a lack of biodiversity.
Social impacts
Environmental degradation has widespread social impacts, disproportionately harming lower-income communities.
We All Have the Power to Impact Our Future
We have incorporated INNOVATION to our name specifically because we believe we are at a turning point in how we address reef degradation, habitat destruction, invasive species, and the social consequences of environmental harm. Our planet is drastically changing before our eyes and now is the time for action. INNOVATION signifies that we are at a pivotal moment in the environmental conservation movement and it is time that we seek immediate and innovative solutions.
Every person has the power to change their own actions. By first educating ourselves, we learn how we all have the power to change our planet for the better. INNOVATION Reef & Wildlife Conservancy will focus on educating communities through partnerships via eco-educators, empowering individuals with the knowledge and awareness needed to drive change. INNOVATION Reef & Wildlife Conservancy will also seek out scalable, high-tech solutions to address degradation, and avenues for regeneration of our environment. This will recognize the importance of innovative approaches and their ability to bring meaningful and long-lasting changes in a rapidly evolving world.
INNOVATION Reef & Wildlife Conservancy is committed to addressing the pressing concerns of our environment today. By fostering connections and partnerships with NGOs around the globe, we will build a team of environmental warriors, equipped and empowered to take on the challenges that our planet faces.

Updates from Protect & Preserve Hawaiʻi
Protect & Preserve Hawaiʻi has partnered with the Bishop Museum to create a native seed collection program. This program is currently managed by Miles Thomas, the botanist for the Bishop Museum. This collaboration is with the intent of building a plant nursery and seed bank that houses native species, which may then be planted by Protect & Preserve Hawaiʻi. This project will help to remedy the common bottleneck in habitat restoration, seed and seedling availability.
